About our Logo...
The SRN
Associates Logo
We often get asked what our logo represents, and
whether it means anything. So we have decided to add this page to our
website to explain where it came from and what we believe it represents.
The logo consists of three square 'flags'. The
first with one large gold square, the second divided into 4 equal smaller
squares, and the third divided further into a checkerboard pattern with 8 gold
squares, all smaller still.
The characters have 4 important aspects, which all support the
SRN Associates brand and philosophy.
-
The 'flags themselves are indeed
flags. They are based on international Maritime Signal Flags,
used to signal between ships or between ship and shore. They are used
to spell out messages. The three flags of the logo represent the
shapes of S, R and N. The maritime version of the flags are coloured.
In the 'S' flag and the 'N' flag the gold squares would be blue. In
the 'R' flag, the gold squares would be red and the white cross would be
yellow.
-
By using flags for maritime use in
this way, it becomes easy for ships to communicate across a distance, and
overcomes barriers such as language. It enables a clear message to be
communicated. Clarity of thought and clear communication are things
SRN Associates strive for too.
-
The gold squares are different sizes
in each 'flag', which perhaps is a metaphor for the different sizes of
businesses we work with.
-
The original colours of the flags
squares were replaced by a simple uniform gold colour. Why choose
gold? Well:
-
Gold as a commodity is known to
be a solid and dependable investment, even in times of economic
uncertainty
-
Gold also represents value, and
a sense of worth (we buy gold jewellery)
-
Gold is also associated with
winning (i.e. gold medal). Something we all like to be associated with
And there you have it.
